What is an associate, anyway?
My current status is "Associate Marriage and Family Therapist", which means that while I have graduated with my Master's I have not yet completed the 3,000 hours of experience required in California for licensure. I am currently being supervised by a more experienced therapist while I work to complete these hours.
There are lots of benefits to working with an Associate, including:
- A lower hourly rate than most licensed therapists
- More recent training that encompasses cutting-edge technique
- An extra set of eyes to ensure you receive the best possible care
- And finally, boundless optimism and enthusiasm!
I hope that this additional information helps you to make an informed decision regarding who you choose to trust with your care.
