Caring for myself is not self-indulgence; it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.

LGBTQ+ Therapy

If you or someone you’re close to belongs to the LGBTQ+ community, you deserve a therapist who shares your dedication to the healing and liberation of queer people everywhere.

The queer community is vast, and an individual’s experience of their gender or sexuality are also impacted by factors such as race, ethnicity, class, religion, ability, and immigration status (to name a few). There is no singular experience of being queer. But for many of us, there is something about being in the company of other queer people that can jump-start a connection and make us feel safe.

Queer spaces and relationships can be a place to express parts of ourselves that the rest of the world may not accept or understand. To feel appreciated and loved for these very parts can be extremely validating and essential to healing past wounds.

As a queer person myself, I understand that you may want to process experiences of gender or sexuality in detail, or you may not want to discuss them at all. Your queerness is only one facet of you. But rest assured that if it does come up, there will be no awkwardness or intrusive questions. Just openness, empathy and full-hearted attention.

Just a few examples of topics we could discuss:

Coming out

Medical/social transition

Family dynamics

Religious/cultural beliefs about queer people

Discrimination & microaggressions

Internalized trans/homophobia

Identity invisibility

Shifting identity

Romantic relationships

Sexual desires & difficulties

Traumatic experiences
